Business by Design: A Human Design Business Model

Your breakthrough starts with the next decision. 🧭

Most business advice assumes you run on the same engine as the person giving it. Post every day. Cold pitch twenty people a week. Launch fast and fix it later. Some people thrive on that. Others burn out by month three and decide they're bad at business.

    They aren't. They're running someone else's model.

Business by Design starts from a different place. We look at your Human Design type first. Then we build your business around it. The goal is simple: a business that matches how your energy actually works.

Here's how we think about it.

πŸ’Ό Your type is the blueprint, not the boss

Human Design sorts people into five types. Each one has a strategy for making decisions and a signature feeling that shows up when things are going right.

    • Generators (about 37% of people): respond to what lights you up. Signature: satisfaction.
    • Manifesting Generators (about 33%): respond, then move fast and inform others. Signature: satisfaction.
    • Projectors (about 20%): wait for recognition and invitation. Signature: success.
    • Manifestors (about 9%): initiate, and inform the people affected. Signature: peace.
    • Reflectors (about 1%): wait a full lunar cycle, roughly 28 days, before big decisions. Signature: surprise.

Your type doesn't pick your industry. A Projector can run a bakery. A Generator can consult. What changes is how you find clients, how you price your time, and how much you can sustainably carry in a week.

Think of your type as the floor plan. You still choose the furniture.

🌱 Match the offer to your energy

This is where most people go wrong first. They copy an offer that looks profitable without checking whether they can deliver it for three years.

A few patterns we see over and over:

Generators do well with offers they can return to daily and keep improving. Retainers. Memberships. Hands-on services. Your energy stays steady when you love the work, so start by naming the work you'd happily do 40 hours a week.

Manifesting Generators get bored in one lane. Build a hub with two or three related offers instead of forcing a single niche. A coach who also runs a podcast and a small product line isn't scattered. She's designed.

Projectors burn out on volume. Fewer clients at a higher price works better. Picture 6 deep advisory clients instead of 30 one-off calls. Your gift is seeing people and systems clearly, and that deserves a premium.

Manifestors start things. Lean into launches and short intensives. Then hand off delivery or automate it.

Reflectors are rare and deeply shaped by environment. Your offer often works best inside a community or a place you love, with a slower decision cycle built in.

🀝 Sell the way you're built to connect

Sales is where type matters most. It's also where generic advice does the most damage.

If you're a Generator or Manifesting Generator, your strategy is to respond. You sell best when someone brings you a problem. Post content that invites replies. Ask your audience where they're stuck, then let your gut tell you which answers to build into offers.

If you're a Projector, cold outreach usually feels awful and converts poorly. Put your thinking in public instead. Write the sharp post. Share the case study. Let the right people invite you in. The invitation is the sales call.

If you're a Manifestor, tell people what you're doing before you do it. A short email saying you're opening three spots next Monday, and why, removes friction for everyone around you.

If you're a Reflector, give buyers time and give yourself time. A 28-day enrollment window can look slow from the outside. For you, it's the right speed.

☯️ Build a week that doesn't drain you

A business model includes your calendar. Revenue that costs you your health won't last long.

Try this exercise this week. List every recurring task in your business. Next to each one, write how you feel after doing it: energized, neutral, or drained. Be honest with yourself.

    Then adjust by type:

    • Generators and MGs: protect the energized tasks. Say no to anything that gets a flat gut response.
    • Projectors: cap focused work at 4 or 5 hours a day. Schedule real rest. Rest is part of the job.
    • Manifestors: work in bursts, then recover. Block recovery time like a client meeting.
    • Reflectors: track how your energy shifts across the month. Put big tasks on your clearest days.

Picture a Projector running a small agency with 22 clients and constant fatigue. She cuts to 8 clients, raises her rates, and stops saying yes to poor fits. The work gets better. So does her week.

🧭 The Business by Design formula

Here's the framework we teach in the course:

    Type β†’ Offer β†’ Rhythm β†’ Revenue

Know your type and strategy. Shape the offer around your energy. Set a weekly and monthly rhythm you can keep. Then let revenue grow from work you can repeat for years.

Skip a step and the whole thing wobbles. Most people start at revenue and work backward. We start with you.

πŸš€ Build your model inside the course

Business by Design walks you through each step with your own chart in hand. You'll identify your type and map your current offers against it. You'll redesign how you sell. And you'll leave with a weekly operating rhythm built for your energy.

You don't need any Human Design background to start. You do need to be willing to stop forcing a model that doesn't fit.
