Legacy Leadership
Legacy Leadership is a 21-day course for executives who've built something worth preserving. You'll move from unclear succession anxiety to a documented legacy plan with named successors and one institution-building initiative underway. Awareness of what endures, Authenticity about your stewardship role, Action that makes succession real.
Six shifts. One new you. π±
A written document defining what you're building to outlast your tenure, tested with stakeholders.
Candidates identified, capabilities assessed, development plans drafted, first conversation held with each.
One systems-level project launched that embeds your values into structure, not personality.
Metrics tracking whether you're building capacity or dependency, reviewed weekly.
Critical knowledge documented and actively being transferred to named successors.
A story about your departure that positions it as strength, not loss, ready to communicate.
- You've been in a top leadership role for at least five years and succession feels urgent or overdue
- You want to leave the organization stronger, not just bigger, than you found it
- You're willing to let go of being the answer and become the one who builds answer-makers
- You have real authority to start institution-building work without needing six approvals
- β You're still proving yourself in the role - legacy work starts after you've built something solid
- β You think succession planning is HR's job, not yours
- β You want to be irreplaceable - this course is about becoming successfully replaceable
A curriculum designed to move you π§
What are you actually building? Seven days mapping your impact, spotting dependency vs capacity, and defining what deserves to outlast you. You'll write a draft legacy statement and test it against your real decisions.
Who's ready, who could be, and what you're avoiding seeing. You'll assess candidates honestly, surface the gaps, and have the first real succession conversation. No fantasy successors, no wishful timelines.
From people to systems. You'll design and launch one institution-building initiative that embeds your leadership into structure: a decision framework, a development system, a cultural ritual that runs without you. Plus: the knowledge transfer plan that actually gets your critical expertise out of your head.
Leading as a steward, not an owner. Final week installs the habits that make succession real: measuring capacity-building, communicating the transition narrative, and stepping back in ways that let successors step up. You'll finish with a 12-month stewardship roadmap and an exit story worth telling.

Coach
The Exponential Coach π€
The Exponential Coach has spent twenty years working with leaders at the top - founders preparing for exit, executives inheriting legacy organizations, C-suite leaders asking what they'll be remembered for. This isn't theory. Every framework in this course comes from real succession work: the ones that went well and the ones that didn't.
Legacy Leadership synthesizes two decades of executive transition consulting into a 21-day self-guided experience. You'll get the succession frameworks used with venture-backed founders, family business patriarchs, and public company CEOs, adapted for someone working alone. The work is private, the stakes are real, the outcome is a plan you can start executing the day the course ends.
Growth, in their own words π
Composite student voices representing typical outcomes.
"I finally had the succession conversation I'd been avoiding for two years. We identified gaps I hadn't seen, set a 24-month timeline, and my COO is now running things I used to think only I could do. The legacy statement gave me a North Star I didn't know I needed."
Michael Krause, CEO (composite student voice)
"This course made me realize I was building a company that couldn't survive without me - the opposite of what I wanted to leave behind. The institution-building module helped me document the decision frameworks that lived in my head and turn them into team systems. Succession isn't a person, it's a system."
Sofia Mendez, Founder (composite student voice)
"I thought legacy was about being remembered. This course taught me it's about being replaceable - in the best way. I finished with a knowledge transfer map, two internal candidates with real development plans, and the confidence that stepping back is the right move. The stewardship mindset changed how I lead today, not just how I'll leave."
Jan van der Berg, Board Chair (composite student voice)
FAQ β―οΈ
I'm not planning to leave soon - is this course premature?+
Succession planning done well takes 18 to 36 months minimum. If you think you might step back in the next three years, you're already late. This course helps you start now while you still have time to build real capacity, not scramble in a crisis.
What if I don't have obvious successors?+
Most leaders don't. Part of the course is diagnosing whether you need to develop internal candidates, recruit externally, or restructure the role itself. You'll finish with a clear succession path even if today you see none.
Will this course tell me when to leave?+
No. It will give you the tools to assess readiness - yours, theirs, the organization's - and build a timeline that's strategic, not emotional. The exit decision is yours, but you'll make it with better data.
Can I do this course confidentially?+
Yes. This is self-guided work. You decide what to share, when, and with whom. Many executives complete the legacy and succession diagnostics privately before opening conversations with boards or senior teams.
What's the difference between succession planning and legacy work?+
Succession is who comes next. Legacy is what remains. This course does both: you'll prepare successors and build the systems that make your leadership principles survive the transition. The best legacy is an organization that doesn't need you but is shaped by what you built.
