Founder of KnowledgeVault & The Exponential Coach

The System Is the Difference, Not the Knowledge

Thorsten, The Exponential Coach, on ethical education for everyone and the road from knowing to doing

Varna, Bulgaria. Thorsten has a line he uses to introduce himself: “My passport is German, my nationality is world citizen.” He is the founder of KnowledgeVault.vip, a library of hundreds of micro-courses on leadership, business, self-development, balance, relationships and network marketing. He coaches and trains in English, German and Spanish. Behind the project is an idea that doesn’t sound like marketing.

From many coachings to an offer for many

At the start was a calculation Thorsten no longer wanted to accept: the knowledge and insight from countless one-on-one coachings reached only a few people, mostly those who could afford it.

“I wanted to take the knowledge and understanding from masses of individual coachings and make it available to a broad audience at prices that give especially beginners access to top-tier knowledge.”

Finding knowledge is easy. Applying it is not.

Why is this needed when YouTube and books exist? Thorsten’s answer is unmistakable:

“Finding knowledge is easy. The solution is to teach it in a way that moves people from knowing to being able to doing. The system is the difference, not the knowledge itself.”

That system has three building blocks:

    • Micro-units: Knowledge is broken down into small steps.
    • Daily tasks: They make sure what you learn lands in everyday work.
    • Evening feedback loop: A short reflection turns practice into commitment, and commitment into lasting change.

The most common misunderstanding after training

Thorsten knows this problem from daily practice. A leader comes back from training, and their surroundings expect: you attended the coaching, so now you can do this.

“After a training, the Pareto rule applies: 80% is lost if it isn’t translated into practice. That leads to frustration for everyone involved.”

The cause, for him, lies in everyday work. Back in the daily routine after a seminar, people often don’t need exactly what was trained at that moment. Transfer succeeds when learning is delivered in small pieces and matched to the current need, not “with a watering can, just because training has to happen.”

    Success you can measure

Thorsten assigns up to three KPIs to every training and coaching, so success can be read off the numbers. Which KPIs depends on the topic and the application. For “Speak Like a Leader”, examples are shorter meetings or fewer emails on a topic.

“We make measurable exactly what normally isn’t measurable.”

    14 countries, one horizon

In his early twenties, Thorsten broke out of the classic career path. For seven years he traveled the world, lived in 14 countries for more than nine months each, and got to know cultures and people.

“That shaped my horizon more than any book could.”

From this he took the insight that runs through all his courses today: between people, nothing is harder than communication.

“We cannot not communicate. Every gesture, every movement and of course every word has the potential to be a solution, but also a misunderstanding.”

    Knowledge for everyone

Asked where KnowledgeVault should stand in three years, Thorsten turns fundamental:

“I want knowledge to be available to everyone. No high-ticket programs, no profit maximization, but ethical education for everyone who wishes for it.”
