Recruiting by Design: Who to Approach Using Human Design

We don't teach what's popular. We teach what works. ✨

Most recruiting advice tells you to talk to everyone. Make a list of 100 names. Send the same message. Follow up five times. You've probably tried it, and you've probably felt the cost: awkward DMs, ghosting, and the drain after a week of pitching people who were never a fit.

Recruiting by Design takes a different route. It uses Human Design to show you who you should actually be approaching, and how. Fewer conversations. Better ones. People who say yes because the fit is real.

Here's the core of what you'll learn.

🧭 Start With Your Own Design

Before you look at anyone else, look at your chart. Your type tells you how your energy works best in outreach.

Generators make up roughly 37% of people. Manifesting Generators add about 33%. If that's you, your strategy is to respond. Cold pitching drains you fast. You do better when someone asks a question, comments on a post, or shows up curious. Your job is to create things people can respond to.

Projectors are about 20%. You're built to guide, and you wait for the invitation. When you push, people push back. When you're recognized, people listen to every word.

Manifestors, around 9%, initiate. You can open doors other types can't. The key is informing people before you act, so they don't feel steamrolled.

Reflectors, about 1%, need time. Waiting a full lunar cycle (roughly 28 days) before big decisions is normal for you. Don't let anyone rush your recruiting calendar.

Know this first. Everything else builds on it.

🌱 Read the Person in Front of You

Now flip it. Every prospect has a design too. You don't need their chart to start reading the signals.

A Generator lights up with a gut "uh-huh" or goes flat with an "uhn-uhn." Ask simple yes or no questions and watch the energy shift. A Projector wants to feel seen. Lead with what you notice about their skills, not with your comp plan. A Manifestor hates being managed. Give them the big picture and step back. A Reflector needs space and a calm setting. Pressure ends that conversation quickly.

Try this tomorrow. Swap your standard opener for a single question: "Would you want to hear how this works?" For the 70% of people with a responsive design, that one line gives them something real to answer. Small change. Big shift.

πŸ’Ό Recruit for Fit, Not Volume

This is where the course earns its name. Who you should actually be approaching is not everyone with a pulse.

Look at the team you already have. Which people thrive? Which burn out in 90 days? Map their types. Patterns show up fast. Maybe your best leaders are Projectors who blossom with recognition. Maybe your steady producers are Generators who love the daily work.

Then approach on purpose. If your team is heavy on initiators and light on sustainers, go find Generators. If nobody is guiding the newer folks, look for Projectors and invite them into leadership.

That's recruiting by design. You build a team where each person's energy has a clear job.

🀝 Invite in a Way That Lands

The invitation matters as much as the person. Match your approach to their decision-making authority.

Emotional authority covers about half the population. These folks need time to ride their emotional wave, so never ask for a yes on the first call. Say, "Sleep on it. I'll check in Thursday." Sacral authority decides in the moment. Ask clearly and let the gut answer. Splenic authority knows in an instant and rarely explains why. Trust it.

Ego authority needs to know the commitment is something they truly want and have the willpower for. Self-projected authority needs to hear themselves talk it through, so give them room to process out loud.

When your invitation fits their authority, the yes is cleaner. The no is cleaner too. A clean no saves you weeks of chasing someone who was never coming.

☯️ The Recruiting by Design Formula

Keep this on a sticky note by your desk:

Know Your Design β†’ Read Their Design β†’ Invite Their Way β†’ Let the Fit Decide

Four steps. You stop forcing. They stop resisting. The right people move toward you because the whole exchange feels honest.

You'll notice something after a few weeks. Your outreach list gets shorter. Your calendar gets fuller with conversations that actually go somewhere. And you stop dreading the follow-up, because you're following up with people who want to hear from you.

    πŸš€ Your Next Step

You don't need a bigger list. You need a clearer lens. Recruiting by Design walks you through your own chart, the five types, the main authorities, and practical language you can use in your next conversation.
