You know the conversation needs to happen, but every time you open your mouth, the wrong words come out 💬
Hard Topics Made Softer
This 7-day course teaches you the soft-startup method: a research-backed structure for raising difficult topics without triggering defensiveness. You'll move from avoidance to Awareness of what makes hard conversations go sideways, build Authenticity in how you express your needs, and take Action by opening one real avoided topic before the week ends.
Six shifts. One new you. 🌱
You'll understand the exact moment conversations turn defensive and what you did to trigger it.
A fill-in-the-blanks structure that works for money, sex, boundaries, hurt feelings, and everything in between.
You'll identify the three phrases that make you shut down or attack, so you can catch yourself.
By day seven, you will have raised a real sensitive subject using the method and lived to tell about it.
Because not every conversation lands perfectly, you'll have a same-day fix that rebuilds safety.
You'll never again walk into a difficult conversation without a map, hoping your anxiety doesn't take over.
- You have something important to say but you keep waiting for the perfect moment that never comes
- You've tried to bring things up before and it turned into a fight, so now you just avoid it entirely
- You're tired of feeling like you have to choose between honesty and keeping the peace
- You want a specific method, not vague advice like 'just communicate better' or 'be vulnerable'
- ✕ You're looking for scripts to win arguments or prove you're right (this is about connection, not victory)
- ✕ You need couples therapy-level intervention for a relationship in crisis (this is skill-building, not crisis management)
- ✕ You think the other person is 100% the problem and if they'd just change, everything would be fine
A curriculum designed to move you 🧭
Days 1-2. The defense triggers you're accidentally activating, the timing traps that doom the talk before it starts, and why your good intentions don't protect you from bad outcomes.
Days 3-4. The exact structure that disarms defensiveness, how to name your feeling without blame, and the one sentence that turns complaint into connection.
Days 5-6. Preparing for one real conversation, choosing your moment with strategy not hope, and executing the soft startup in your actual life with an actual person.
Day 7. What to do when it doesn't land perfectly, how to repair mid-conversation, and building your personal hard-topics protocol for every future talk that matters.

Coach
The Exponential Coach 🤝
The Exponential Coach has spent 20 years teaching people how to say hard things without blowing up their relationships. After watching thousands of students avoid crucial conversations until resentment killed the bond, he built this course around one question: what if you could raise anything, with anyone, and have them actually hear you? This method emerged from pattern-matching across leadership conflicts, family rifts, and romantic gridlock. It turns out the structure that works in a boardroom also works at a dinner table, because defensiveness is defensiveness everywhere. The soft-startup framework has been tested in real conversations by over 1,500 students, and it works because it's designed around how human nervous systems actually respond to perceived criticism, not how we wish they would.
Growth, in their own words 💖
Composite student voices representing typical outcomes.
"I used the soft-startup script to finally tell my sister how her comments about my weight hurt me. She apologized, we cried, and our relationship is closer now than it's been in five years. I thought that conversation would end us."
Laura K., Munich (composite student voice)
"I've been avoiding the money talk with my partner for eight months. Day 6 gave me the exact words. We had the conversation, made a plan, and I didn't cry or yell once. I actually feel like an adult now."
Marco T., Rome (composite student voice)
"I'm naturally conflict-avoidant, so I was terrified of this course. But the daily tasks were so small and specific that I just followed the steps. By the end I'd raised a boundary issue with my boss that I'd been swallowing for a year. He thanked me for bringing it up. I nearly fell over."

FAQ ☯️
What if the other person still gets defensive even when I use the method?+
Day 7 covers exactly this. You'll learn the same-day repair move and how to name the defensiveness without escalating. The soft-startup dramatically lowers the odds of defense, but it's not magic. Some people aren't ready to hear hard things no matter how you say them. You'll also learn how to recognize when that's the case and what it means for the relationship.
Do I need a partner to do this course?+
No. The skills work in any relationship: family, friends, colleagues, dates, roommates. The tasks are designed for whoever is actually in your life right now. If you're single, you'll practice with the relationships you have. If you're partnered, you can use it there, but it's not required.
What if I'm the one who gets defensive when others bring things up?+
Even better. Days 1-2 map the defense triggers from both sides. You'll see what you do when you feel criticized, which makes you better at not triggering it in others and better at catching it in yourself. This is a two-way skill.
I've read communication books before and they didn't help. How is this different?+
Books give you theory. This gives you a script, a real conversation to have this week, and a step-by-step task sequence. You're not reading about soft startups, you're using one by day six. The learning happens in your actual life, not on the page.
What if the topic I need to raise is really big, like infidelity or a major betrayal?+
This course is for everyday sensitive topics: money, sex, boundaries, hurt feelings, differing needs, small resentments before they become big ones. If you're dealing with a relationship-level crisis, you likely need a therapist in the room, not a self-study course. But if you're trying to raise something important before it becomes a crisis, this is exactly the right tool.
