Think Weeks and Thinking Time: The Discipline of Strategic Reflection
This 21-day course installs the executive discipline Bill Gates, Warren Buffett, and every leader you admire practices in private: protected thinking time. You'll move from awareness of why strategic reflection matters, to authentic confrontation with what you're avoiding, to daily action that produces clarity. By day 21, you'll have a sustainable rhythm and proof it works.
Six shifts. One new you. π±
A recurring calendar block no one touches, with a prep ritual that makes it sacred.
Real answers to questions you've been carrying for months, written and ready to share.
Thirty prompts organized by domain so you never stare at a blank page.
Your ideal conditions identified and reproducible: location, tools, time of day, inputs.
How insights move from your notebook into your team's operating rhythm within 48 hours.
The full multi-day deep-dive format, scheduled and defended for the next 12 months.
- You lead at C-level, founder level, or senior executive level and your calendar owns you
- You make big decisions but suspect you're optimizing the wrong things because you never pause to question assumptions
- You've read about Think Weeks but dismissed them as luxury you can't afford or don't know how to structure
- You want proof of concept before blocking a full week, so you'll start with protected hours
- β You think strategic reflection means daydreaming without a framework or outcome in mind
- β You need permission from someone else to control two hours of your own calendar
- β You're looking for a course that tells you what to think instead of how to think
A curriculum designed to move you π§
Why the best decisions happen away from the desk. You'll audit where your current strategic thinking happens (spoiler: in the shower and on flights), map the cost of never pausing, and complete your first protected 90-minute thinking session with a structured question set. Days 8-14 introduce the five types of strategic questions and you'll run one session per type.
The questions you're not asking because the answers scare you. You'll identify the strategic conversations you've been postponing, write the hard questions about direction, talent, and market position, and sit with them in a dedicated session. This is where the real insights live. You'll document three avoided questions and produce at least one uncomfortable answer.
From experiment to operating system. You'll design your repeatable thinking-time format, install it as a non-negotiable weekly block, test three different environments, and build the integration protocol that moves insights from private reflection into team execution. By day 21, your next three thinking sessions are scheduled and defended.
Capstone day. You'll design your first full Think Week using the multi-day arc structure, choose the location, build the reading and question list, communicate it to your team and board, and lock the dates. You'll leave this course with a complete Think Week plan in your calendar and the evidence that smaller sessions already changed how you lead.

Coach
The Exponential Coach π€
The Exponential Coach brings twenty years of work with C-level executives, founders, and senior leaders who run organizations but rarely get time to think about them. This course distills the practices of clients who've built billion-dollar companies, turned around divisions, and made career-defining calls - not in board meetings, but in the protected thinking time most leaders never install. The method is built from real executive calendars and the honest admission that strategy doesn't happen in status updates.
Growth, in their own words π
Composite student voices representing typical outcomes.
"I've been CEO for six years and never once blocked thinking time that actually held. Three weeks in, I had my first uninterrupted 90 minutes in months and solved a product-market question we'd been circling for a quarter. The question bank alone is worth the course price."
Markus Reinhardt, CEO, Munich (composite student voice)
"I thought Think Weeks were for people with assistants and empty calendars. This course showed me how to start with two hours and still produce insights my exec team immediately acted on. I've now run four sessions and scheduled my first three-day deep dive for November."
Priya Sharma, Chief Strategy Officer, London (composite student voice)
"The 'what you've been avoiding' module was uncomfortable and completely necessary. I finally asked myself the succession question I'd been dodging for 18 months. The answer changed my next two years. This is the course every founder needs before they're ready for it."
Elena Vasquez, Founder & Board Chair, Barcelona (composite student voice)
FAQ β―οΈ
I barely have time for my existing commitments. How do I justify blocking hours for thinking?+
The course starts with a 20-minute calendar audit that shows you where strategic thinking currently happens - usually fragmented, low-quality, and invisible. Most executives find 3-5 hours per week of pseudo-work they can convert. Day 3's task is defending your first block; you'll practice the exact language to use with your team and EA.
What if I sit down for thinking time and my mind goes blank?+
You'll never sit down without a structured question set. The course gives you thirty prompts organized by strategic domain (market, talent, capital, product, culture, personal). Each thinking session has a prep protocol: question selection, input gathering, and environmental setup. Blank pages don't happen when you arrive prepared.
Is this just glorified journaling?+
No. Journaling is reflective and personal. Strategic thinking time is directive and produces decisions. Every session in this course has a defined outcome: an answer, a decision, a question for your team, or a change in direction. You'll leave each session with something that goes into your next leadership meeting or board deck.
I've tried blocking thinking time before and it always gets eaten by urgent requests. What's different here?+
The course teaches you to treat thinking time like a client meeting: it has an agenda, a defined output, and non-negotiable boundaries. You'll also build the stakeholder communication plan that makes your team protect the block instead of eroding it. Day 12 is entirely about defending the habit when pressure spikes.
Do I need to take a full week off to get value from this course, or can I start smaller?+
Start smaller. The course builds from 90-minute protected sessions in weeks 1-3 to the full Think Week blueprint in the final module. Most participants run 3-4 short sessions and produce significant insights before they ever schedule the multi-day format. The Think Week is the destination, not the entry point.
